Burnout, work, and creativity

You might be thinking, “I can keep doing this job, but I don’t want my life to keep feeling like this.” Maybe work has become your identity, an unpredictable schedule has crowded out your relationships, or success has not brought the satisfaction you expected.

Based in Los Angeles, I offer online therapy throughout California for adults in creative fields and other demanding careers who want more room for relationships, rest, and meaningful work. You do not need to be an artist to belong here.

When accomplishment stops feeling like enough

Burnout is not always a problem of doing too much. It can also come from spending too long in environments that ask you to ignore your limits, values, or instincts. You may be productive and outwardly successful while privately feeling detached, resentful, anxious, or unable to start.

Our work can address perfectionism, procrastination, creative blocks, workplace politics, difficulty with structure, career transitions, and the pressure to turn every part of yourself into something useful.

A therapist who knows the industry

After burning out as an emergency room social worker, I moved into music and live entertainment before eventually returning to clinical work. I understand how personal a creative career can feel, and how difficult boundaries become when opportunity, income, identity, and belonging seem tied together. My background also includes an MSW from Columbia and four years as an emergency room social worker.

What working together looks like

I am active, direct, and relational. We will look at the patterns underneath the burnout, not just build a better task list. That may include how you respond to authority, what happens when you are uncertain, the role work plays in your self-worth, and what you avoid when the stakes feel high.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to work in a creative field?

No. I also work with professionals who want more creativity, flexibility, structure, or meaning in their lives.

Is this career coaching?

No. This is psychotherapy. Career decisions may be part of the work, but we will also pay attention to relationships, emotions, history, and the patterns that follow you from one workplace to another.

Do you work with people considering a career change?

Yes. Therapy can help you separate temporary exhaustion from a deeper need for change and make decisions without demanding perfect certainty first.
